Packraft Size & Fit Guide

Our packrafts include both sized and unsized models. Unsized models are designed to fit most adults unless otherwise specified. Sized models are designed for a true to size fit with enough knee bend to engage the thigh straps, but keep your legs more extended for better downriver performance.

Our goal is to help you get the perfect fit with minimum hassle. Start with the sizing chart below, then move on to the fitting notes if you are in between sizes or still aren't sure.

Alpacka Raft Size Chart: Small - Under 5'7", Medium - 5'6" - 5'11", Large - 5'9" - 6'2", X-Large - 6'1" - 6'6"

We've put together a video guide to help you determine your packraft size and fit.

Fitting Notes
  1. Fit is Personal: Our sizing chart is based on our preferred fit, which is a medium knee bend with your feet placed against the foot brace while in thigh straps. This fit will feel less secure at first than a deep knee bend, but we have found it provides better comfort and performance in whitewater once you get used to it. But remember that fit is still personal and you can choose a tighter or more relaxed fit based on your own skills and preferences.
  2. When to Size Up: Sizing is based on the length between your heels and your hips when sitting. If you are between sizes, you should consider sizing up if you have longer legs or larger hips relative to your heigh, or if you want a more comfortable fit and a little faster boat.
  3. When to Size Down: If you are between sizes, you should consider sizing down if you want a deeper knee bend for more aggressive engagement with your thigh straps. You should also consider sizing down if you have shorter legs and narrower hips relative to your height.
